Bringing Great Companies and Great People Together
From Academia to Industry®
From Academia to Industry® is an educational program designed to provide Hematology and Oncology Fellows at top tier academic institutions with in-depth information about careers in industry.
The feedback from administration, faculty and Fellows is overwhelmingly positive. “I have never previously heard a talk about a career in the pharmaceutical industry, so all information was new to me. I had never previously thought about a career in industry, but now I am aware of this option.” Fellow, Georgetown University Medical Center, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The goal of the program is to help Hematology and Oncology Fellows learn firsthand about a career in industry by bringing them into direct contact with clinical development leaders from top oncology companies.
MDs in Industry: Insights for Fellows
Industry presenters who themselves are MDs and work in hematology and oncology clinical development visit with Fellows at their academic institutions. They talk with Fellows about their transition from academia to industry, a day in the life, what they like/don’t like about working in industry, and more. This presents a unique opportunity for Fellows to ask questions and interact one-on-one with top industry clinicians.

Testimonials
From Academia to Industry is a good model to follow in the future.
I was so consumed by my academic workload I could not think about anything else. If I had not attended this program I would have no idea about opportunities in industry nor would I have any information about industry. The presentation was excellent – it gave me a whole new window into a career in industry! The presenters were obviously top clinicians and scientists; I could identify with everything they were saying. I’d like to revisit opportunities in industry with you in about 6 to 8 months.
